Ford's answer to the very popular Corvette, the Thunderbird had to not only put Ford back on the radar for the people that wanted a roadster but also one that had some power. The first year the T-Bird out sold the smaller corvette almost 23-1 ratio. Ford not only wanted a sporty roadster, but a car that was enjoyable to drive. Success was multiplied with the performance and style that left dealerships begging for more inventory in the mid to late 50's. This T-Bird is not only great to just stare at but also a remarkable car to drive and showcase at any car event. Restored in 2008 with long list of upgrades, refinements, and lots of labor by a restorer who has multiple projects under his belt. Under the hood is a rebuilt 292ci V8 done by a local engine shop with .060 overbore and harden valves so regular fuel could be used without any issues. It also has a Pertronix ignition. The frame was removed from the body with proper cleaning and proper underbody panels restored. The brake system has been replaced and a dual master cylinder was added with silicone brake fluid. All the chrome was sent out to get re-plated and installed properly. All the panels were removed and sandblasted and only the lower rocker panels being replaced. A new interior was installed as well as fresh glass throughout the car. The hard top also received a full sandblasting and two new port holes were added for better visibility and allow for use on a 56 or 57 T-Bird. Many more fine items were added throughout the build and extra parts and features do come with vehicle. Take this car a few extra steps and have a very nice show quality car, or enjoy the car as is and drive it where ever you want. The market and desirability for these cars continue to be on the rise and with such iconic looks, chances are you will not make it too far down the street without getting a thumb's up from your neighbor.
