The GM A-body platform produced many of the popular muscle car era names including the Pontiac GTO , Buick Grand Sport, and Oldsmobile 442. The Chevelle SS was Chevrolet's entry in to the muscle car market. The rounded styling of the 2nd generation Chevelle and semi-fastback flowing roofline make these classics popular collector cars as survivors, fresh restorations, and modified pro-street racers. When people think about muscle cars the Chevelles produced from 1968-72 jump right off the page. The Chevelle 2nd generation was the GM A-body perfect size for anything you wanted to stuff under the hood to make your ride jump off the line when commanded to do so. With a great deal of originality to it from inside to out, this vehicle holds much more than just the 396 that came standard when first built, this vehicle holds a 454 block de-stroked to a 427, with a 10.5:1 compression ratio, has a built up locking rear end, custom headers, rebuilt carburetor, upgraded upper control arms, lockout stall converter, fully redone brakes and a great exhaust installed from the headers back. With no corners cut, this vehicle was professionally restored from 1999-2007, many of the receipts are included with the sale for authenticity and even some more since its rebuild and current ownership. The exterior shows excellently with show-quality finishes from the paint to the chrome to the trim, The Cragar wheels are a great addition, the original springs are included in the sale, the under carriage is in great shape as well and considering that the restoration is less than 10 years old, it's no surprise especially when you see the pile of receipts it took to bring this car back to its current state. The interior shows as original with a full restoration completed as well keeping this a real nostalgic driver but with all the extra power you could hope for.
