Product Details

The Chevelle was a muscle car built by GM and was one of Chevrolet's most successful nameplates. It was a mid-sized car intended to compete with the Ford Fairlane. The Chevelle SS represented Chevrolet's entry into the muscle car battle in 1964 and lasted through the 1972 when rising gas prices and government bureaucracy ended the once exciting world of street performance fun. The Chevelle convertible we are offering here is a true SS, non-numbers matching example. It is dressed in Tuxedo Black over a black vinyl interior with front bucket seats. It features a black vinyl convertible top, center console, factory knee-knocker tachometer, tissue dispenser, tilt steering with a teak wheel, AM radio, and more. It rides on factory 15 inch rally steel wheels with beauty rings and correct center caps with BFG Radial T/A tires. The healthy 396 is painted chevy orange and shows well. It is equipped with a 4 barrel Holley carburetor with a street dominator intake. It has the factory wiper washer bottle and the hood light works properly when the hood is open. The SS features the proper SS hood and has power steering. The car also has headers with newer exhaust and a new gas tank. The big block v8 is mated to a 4 speed manual shift transmission.
