The 2002 Ford Thunderbird landed in the “personal luxury car” market with much deserved fanfare. It was immediately named the Motor Trend Car of the Year and was nominated for North American Car of the Year. The car's styling gives a nod to designs of years past, and takes cues from the original Thunderbird. 2002 Thunderbirds were available as a convertible only, with the option of a removable hard top. A classic exhaust note can be heard from the modern 3.9-liter DOHC 32-valve V-8 as it propels the Thunderbird from zero to 60 mph in 7 seconds flat, using 252 stock horsepower. It is dressed in Inspiration yellow over an Inspiration yellow accent interior. This Paint color was only offered one year. In 2002 there were 31,368 Thunderbirds produced and only 3,791 were painted this color. Mechanically, this car features a 5 speed automatic transmission, power 4 wheel ventilated disc brakes, 4 channel anti-lock braking system, 4 wheel independent suspension with gas-charged shock absorbers and front/rear stabilizer bars, power variable-assist rack and pinion steering and an 18 gallon fuel tank. This Thunderbird has the 17 inch chrome wheels from the premium package. In the interior of the T-bird there is front and side-impact airbags for driver and passenger, securilock passive anti-theft system, NUDO leather trimmed seats with recliners, power 6 way driver's seat and 2 way passenger's seat, analog instrument cluster with tachometer, air conditioning with dual automatic temperature control, AM/FM stereo with in-dash 6-disc CD changer clock and audiophile sound system, leather wrapped steering wheel with audio and speed control and much more. As you can see this car is very clean, it was always garaged. It comes with the original window sticker, soft top boot and hardtop dolly. This car looks great and drives very well.
