Product Details

THIS. . . is a 1984 Mercedes-Benz 500SEC, finished in black with a Palomino interior. Factory equipment includes 14-inch wheels, a self-leveling rear suspension system, a limited-slip differential, headlight wipers, a sunroof, wood interior trim, heated and power-adjustable front seats with orthopedic seatbacks, air conditioning, a Becker Grand Prix cassette player, and cruise control, according to a build sheet pictured in the gallery. The seller reports no modifications. Known as the C126 internally, the SEC was launched for the 1983 model year as the W126's coupe counterpart. 500 sedans and coupes finally arrived in America for 1984, and both body styles gained an even bigger V8 for 1986. SEC sales ended after the 1991 model year. Power comes from a 5. 0-liter V8, rated at 228 horsepower and 299 lb-ft of torque. Called "M117" internally, it spins the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission.
