In the historic automotive year of '55, Ford was in 2nd place to Chevy in overall sales yet Ford led the way in convertible sales. The wrap around windshield, 2-toned “check mark” body trim, and large jet-tube taillights completed a radical new look that buyers could not get enough of. These cars remain incredibly popular collector items as stock pieces and as street rods. This '55 Fairlane Sunliner is originally from North Dakota. It was purchased by the current owners 20 years ago, and went through a frame off restoration. It's powered by the original 292ci V8 engine paired with the original transmission 3-speed column shifter (3 on a tree baby!). This car is in stunning condition. The chrome, paint, seats, dash, and convertible top are all in excellent shape. Everything works and this car runs & drives great. Recent upkeep includes a new battery (6 volt), new starter, rebuilt carburetor, and changed brake shoes & pads. This car restored to stock condition is not your everyday find.
