This car was built in the spirit of the Austin Mini Sprints that were used for racing in the early 60's. This is a on-off, full custom build that is said to have been the passion project for a Mini motorsports enthusiast. This is an all steel body that has been chopped 2 inches from the bottom of the body and doors an 3 inches from the top. The car is powered by a professionally prepared Minicomp 1380 cc engine with an aluminum head mated to a 4-speed, 4-synchro, newer rod change transmission and driven by front wheel drive. This is an very high quality build with huge attention to detail in all areas. Highlights include its: Outstanding customization and fabrication of the all steel body, Cooper S brakes (disc and drum), GAZ adjustable shocks, Weber 45 carburetor, alloy intake manifold, LCB headers, S Racer red coil springs, Minilite style 8 spoke rally wheels, Modified Wood and Pickett style wheel flares. The flywheel and clutch are lightened to Minicomp Spec's with Cooper S blue spot cover, the charging system has been upgraded to alternator, a small dry cell battery has been relocated to under the rear seat, body color mirrors, desirable roll back roof, and a custom fabricated fuel tank that holds 10 US gallons. The quality and attention to detail has been carried through to the interior featuring well fitted, high quality grey upholstery with modified recaro style seats, high quality signature wood dash and excellent gauges. This 1969 Austin Mini Cooper custom is a complete blast to drive. The car is very quick and hugely responsive in all handling with point and shoot characteristics reminiscent of performance carting. Not detail was over looked and no expense was spared in the customization of this little performance icon. Today, the car remains in excellent condition cosmetically and mechanically and is a must consideration for any English motorsport enthusiast as well as a great addition to any collection.
