We are pleased to present this 1964 International Scout 80 4x4 for purchase. International Harvester developed the Scout as a precursor of more sophisticated SUV's to come. The only other 4-wheel drive recreational vehicles offered at the time were Jeeps. 1964 was the 4th model year Scouts were offered. The Scouts became known for their ability to go anywhere and have high durability. They are a key part of automotive history being considered the first SUV . The 1964 International Scout 80 offered here has been the recipient of a no expense spared, professional restoration performed by the masterful hands of Havana Hot Rods in Tallahassee, FL. The restoration was performed on a non-problematic example harvested from the state of Utah. The entire vehicle was disassembled, all areas were media blasted including roof, dash, doors, hood, tailgate, bumpers, spare tire rack, wheels, fuel tanks, radiator, front grill, engine bay, fenders, mirrors, window regulators, window channels, etc. from there, everything was primed with high quality epoxy primer. The clean, dry original underside of the car has been preserved as original. The body was then blocked smooth and finished in period correct Sunshine Yellow. The motor was serviced and addressed accordingly, the transmission professional rebuilt, rebuilt carburetor, rebuilt clutch, new brakes, new radiator, all new belts and hoses, all new weather stripping, rubbers and seals, new glass and window seals. It also features new Rhino lined interior floors, professionally re-upholstered interior seats, roll bar, 3 point front seat belts, New JVC Stereo and speakers, newer tires and new white spoke rims. In short, every square inch of this Scout is finished to the highest of standards. Since its completion in 2010, the car has been cared for in a climate controlled environment, and sorted and driven approximately 1500 miles. This is one of the best International Harvester Scout 80 that we have seen. It is powered by its durable inline 4 cylinder engine fitted to a 3 speed transmission. The transfer case allows for 2wd, 4wd hi and 4wd low. There is little terrain that this Scout cannot conquer.
