The GM A-body platform produced many of the popular muscle car era names including the Pontiac GTO , Buick Gran Sport, and Oldsmobile 442. The Chevelle SS was Chevrolet's entry in to the muscle car market. The rounded styling of the 2nd generation Chevelle and semi-fastback flowing roofline make these classics popular collector cars as survivors, fresh restorations, and modified pro-street racers. Chevelles came in several different variations and trim packages, but the hot SS will make people stop in their tracks with respect for the performance and the timeless style. The history provided tells us that back in 1972 there was a recall on the engine and although the one inside this car is not the original, it is believed to be an era-correct replacement from 1972 which is believed to be replaced by the factory when the first engine had troubles. Included in the sale is an air cleaner, an intake manifold, valve covers and coolant overflow reservoir. The chrome is in overall good shape, the cowl induction hood with the black racing stripes add to the aggressive look and drivability cannot be understated!
