The Boxster is Porsches first road vehicle to be originally designed as a roadster since the 550 Spyder of the 1950's. The first generation Boxster was introduced in 1996 and was powered buy a 2.5 Litre flat 6-cylinder engine and has been significantly upgraded ever since. The Boxster name is derived from the word “boxer”, referring to the vehicle's horizontally opposed engine. The Boxster received a minor facelift and other subtle changes in 2003 but the biggest change came in styling and performance in 2004 with the introduction of 550 Spyder 50th anniversary edition. Only 1953 cars were produced and were all painted the GT Silver Metallic, had unique cocoa-brown full leather inerior as well as special paintwork. A high-end BOSE sound system, two-tone grey and silver 18” Carrera wheels, sport exhaust and the M030 sport suspension. The car offered here today is a two-owner Special Edition car that received a brand new engine under warranty from Porsche in 2005. All work performed was documented from Fred Lavery in Birmingham, MI. The receipts with new engine numbers come with the car. This car is in wonderful condition that operates flawlessly. This car being one of 1953 is very worthy of collector status.
