Ford Motor Company began production of their legendary Ford Bronco for the 1966 model year and as soon as the Bronco was released, Bill Stroppe became involved. Since the beginning, Mr. Stroppe used the Bronco to race in desert races, off-road races and even had the chance to win both the Baja 500 and 1000 using the Bronco in 1971. Now with a national recognized brand, Ford saw this as the perfect time to utilize its popularity towards marketing a specialty Bronco for public sale. On January 28th, 1971, Ford announced this new specialty SUV , the Baja Bronco. This vehicle was classified as a “limited production duplicate” of Stroppes team cars and although not many were made, most off-road enthusiasts will attest to the impact they made. From top to bottom, this vehicle screams capability and with the correctly chosen colors throughout, this is a real prize waiting to be had by its next owner! From the outside, it is clear this is a unique example which features a bold orange and white body with a black hood and bright blue roof and all the off-road styling you would come to expect from a legendary ride. The chrome bumpers and brush guard could use refurbishing but the tires and wheels are in good condition and a wonderful moon roof has been installed for extra enjoyment. The interior is still well intact but with an aftermarket media center in place and a vintage air system installed for more modern enjoyment. The documentation is really what sets this one apart from the rest as we have been provided with the original warranty Ownercard, receipts directly from Bill Stroppe Associates for the up-fit with vin matching details and even a copy of the original invoice showing the ship thru to Bill Stroppe in Long Beach, CA and then to Parker Motor Co in Parker, AZ where it was first sold new! Many other documents and receipts included and the current owner has pulled off the extra shocks per wheel to give it a bit smoother ride on the road as well as the secondary gas tank but both will be included in the sale as well.
