Product Details

The Firebird and Chevy Camaro hit the showroom floors as a response to the success of the Mustang. GM muscle enthusiasts were immediately smitten and the 2nd generation of the Firebird, running from 1970-1981, is at the top of the list to many when it comes to muscle car history. The 455 engine available in the second generation Firebird Trans Am was arguably the last high-performance engine of the original muscle car generation. The 455 cu in (7.5 L) engine made its first appearance in the Firebird in 1971 as the 455-HO, which continued through the 1972 model year. In 1973 and 1974, a special version of the 455, called the Super Duty 455 (SD-455), was offered. This '73 Firebird Trans-Am is a stud and a great example of the legendary line. This car went through a full frame-off restoration about four years ago including (professionally) the body being baking soda blasted and the engine bay sand blasted. A professional paint job was done by Cal Anderson of Enderlin, North Dakota and it shows extremely well. The car also features rebuilt radiator, new air conditioning pump & hoses, new alternator, new distributor, 795 quad jet carburetor, aluminum intake, new shocks, new leaf springs, steam cleaned gas tank, new deluxe interior, refinished wheels, power steering, power front disc brakes, power windows, and more! It's powered by the 455ci V8 engine paired with the turbo 400 automatic transmission. This car is in excellent condition inside, outside, and underneath! This car is one you appreciate more the closer you inspect it, and it is mechanically sound.
