Product Details

Year 1961, Plymouth introduced a dramatic re-design of its ostentatious Fury of the year prior. Most notably was the removal of the massive tail fins, “stabilizers” as they were called in the sales literature. The new Fury was lower, sleeker, and carried a more futuristic design. The rear deck lid now flush with the top of the rear fenders with more subtle rocket style tail lights fixed to each side, with full stainless steel belt trim surrounding the car still gave the 61 Fury a prominent look. This vehicle was purchased new from Highland Plymouth Company as a dealer demo on February 22, 1962 and has remained in the hands of that purchaser until his recent passing and title was assigned to his widow. The car have always been cared for, remains completely stock and with the exception of some targeted refurbishment, the car remains highly original. Highlights included: 318 V8 engine, push button automatic transmission, power windows, power brakes, power steering, power windows, power top, front bench seat, multi-tone interior, futuristic gauge cluster with linear speedometer, dual exhaust, fender skirts, jack, spare etc. This highly optioned car is an excellent driver and a great example of American Big Iron innovation. When it comes to investing in classic cars; uniqueness owner history, originality and documentation matter. This 1961 Plymouth Fury Convertible checks all those boxes and is a worthy candidate for anyone in the market. Documentation includes: Original sales order, original finance contract, original owner manual, original title, original extended warranty certificate offered by the dealer at the time of sale, original title, service records etc.
