THIS. . . is a 1999 Lotus Esprit V8, finished in blue with a beige interior. Factory equipment includes 17-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, dual fuel tanks, pop-up headlights, a rear wing, a glass roof panel, leather upholstery, blue piping on the seats, and air conditioning. The only modifications reported by the seller are a Wizard Cooling aluminum radiator and that the mufflers have been removed from the exhaust system. Lotus released the Esprit in 1976 and made numerous design and mechanical updates to the model over the next 28 years. Peter Stevens gave it a less angular exterior design in 1988, power steering became standard in 1994, and the 1997 model year brought a twin-turbocharged V8 (the first in the Esprit's history) designed in-house. Production ended in 2004 and only a small handful were sold in America. Power comes from a 3. 5-liter twin-turbocharged V8, rated at 350 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Mid-mounted, it spins the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
