Commemorative and limited edition automobiles are nothing new, in fact, the word “limited” in limited edition has become so ambiguous, it often means the exact opposite. But not in this case, built to honor Jaguar's entry into Formula One racing, only 238 of these XKR Silverstones are destined for North America. The Silverstone is a special edition of the XKR , itself the 370-hp supercharged performance version of the normally aspirated XK8. Red-stitched charcoal leather on the steering wheel and sport seats, gray-stained maple trim and special badging inside and out take care of the cosmetic additions. There's also a cosmetic element to the major performance enhancement: 20-inch BBS alloy wheels styled after those on the XK180 concept car (vs. standard 18-inchers on the XKR ). The bigger wheels make room for bigger brakes, red-painted, four-pot aluminum Brembo calipers (same units used on the Porsche Turbo) grabbing cross-drilled rotors 14 inches in diameter in front and 13 inches out back. This vehicle is all original and is as clean as they come! Routine service and maintenance has been performed as recommended and vehicle remained in a detail state at all times, according to the owner it has never seen snow or rain. With just over 18,000 miles, vehicle shows extremely well in the original Platinum Silver that is in very good condition and appears to be free of any rust or damage. According to our intake inspection; headlights low and high, taillights, turn signals, fog lights, mirrors, wipers, trunk and hood latches, top, horn, radio, locks, seats, windows, navigation, A/C, heater and all electronics work great as they should. The owner has provided us with a binder full of receipts and more information behind the XKR Silverstone. The car is very clean, spectacular paint, leather seats and proper running convertible top. This is a prime example of the quality of vehicles that come out of our showrooms. This car comes with brand new tires with fewer than 500 miles on them, all factory manuals, both sets of keys with remotes, service records, convertible boot cover, car cover, extra valve stems, and an extra set of wheel center caps.
