Product Details

Following decades of remarkable success on the racetrack and on the sales floor with its beloved four-cylinder sports cars, MG experimented with six-cylinder power in 1967 with the release of the MGC , with was able to bridge the gap in BMC's product line created at the end of production of the ever popular Austin Healey 3000. With 145 horsepower and plenty of torque on tap, the MGC was the most powerful car MG produced during the era, even trumping the later V8 MGB of the Mid 70's. Road tests revealed a MG that was quicker in acceleration and a car that offered a much higher top speed, exceeding 120 mph. MGC production would only last three years with only a total run of about 4551 C roadsters produced. This MGC roadster has been the recipient of a complete, well executed, restoration on a non-problematic car. The car was completely disassembled, stripped and every aspect of this car was restored, refurbished and or replaced with original or correct parts. The car is finished in its original factory correct BU9 Mineral Blue exterior paint over a lovely interior coordinating black with light blue piping, blue carpeting, blue tonneau and blue convertible top. Excellent chrome and bright work throughout and chrome wire wheels outfitted with classic wide white wall tires complete the stunning presentation of this C roadster. Power comes from its professionally rebuilt and prepared 2.9 liter inline six outfitted with triple SU carbs and upgraded Pertronix ignition. Power is transferred via its 4 speed synchromesh transmission with overdrive and delivered by the rear wheels. The restoration was executed by some of the most capable hands in British Motoring including John Twist of University Motors. The performance of this car is amazing. The acceleration is excellent in all gears, the handling is tight and rattle free, the braking is straight and true, the exhaust note is most excellent and the overdrive works flawlessly. In short, this car delivers the best in Vintage British Open Air Motoring available. The MGC is the best that MG ever offered. Examples are rare and the mystique is very real. These cars are exciting to own, drive and be involved with. An example such as this is special. It has received the best attention that the world has to offer in though, service, set up and final sorting. Not only is the presence of the car stunning, it is an absolute thrill to drive. It is an opportunity for motoring excitement as well as investment. These cars are undervalued given their output. Included is a complete, well organized binder encompassing all aspects of the restoration, the MG registry, service receipts, tool roll, full tonneau, jack, full size spare, original ignition and distributer and a smattering of parts.
