The MGA was produced from 1955 through 1962 with a total of just over 101,000 cars being built with the vast majority being exported. Only 5869 cars were for the home market. The design went all the way back to the 1951, however many problems with the chassis prompted a new design and the main reason for the new design was the seat positions needed to be lowered so the frame needed to be widened. The first of the “New Line” was called the A. It was a body-on-frame design and used the Straight-4 engine driving the rear wheels. The 1489 cc engine produced 68 hp but was soon uprated to 72 with a top speed of almost 100 MPH and a 0-60 in 16 seconds all while producing 26.7 MPG . The wonderful example that we are offering here is a fantastic running and driving automobile with a nice driver quality fit and finish. It has a older re-spray with some minor fit issues but still shows nice. This car in the last few years has had all mechanics gone through to assure fantastic driveability.
