Mercedes built the 107 chassis from 1971 all the way through 1989 offering many different body and engine configurations. Undoubtedly the SL body was the most desirable. They were a 2-seat convertible/roadster with a standard soft-top and factory removable hard-top. They had optional folding seats for the rear bench. The engines varied from a 2.8L inline 6 cylinder to a 5.6 Liter V-8. From 1973-1980 all US spec. cars were 4.5L V-8's with fuel injection that produced 160 HP which was cut from the initial 230HP offered in 1973. The 450 gave way to the 380 after 1980 on the same chassis. The car offered here has been completely gone through with over $32,000 worth of receipts dating back only 6 years. This 450 has been down to bare-metal with a re-spray, new interior, top, brakes, engine tune-up, suspension etc…Everything that needed attention was taken care of. The paint is beautifully finished in silver metallic over burgundy interior with a matching hard-top and black cloth soft-top. This car starts, runs and drives wonderfully. This car comes out of the hands of a very meticulous local car collector and is ready to be driven and enjoyed. It comes with full restoration documentation and receipts as well as service/tech manuals, original owners/service manuals, original tool roll as well as sales brochure.
