Product Details

The Bel Air was a full-size automobile that was produced from 1950-1981 by the Chevrolet division of General Motors and molded well to each generation that it was produced in. With only two door hardtop variants being produced for the first three production years, the idea of keeping it a model changed along the way as it became a trim level. Starting 1953, Chevrolet continued the Bel Air name but as a unique body shape or as a premium trim that was applied to many different body styles. This continued until the discontinuation of the highly recognized name tag until 1975, but even then it was still produced in Canada for another six years. This model has become one of the most recognizable models in auto shows and continues to be one of the greats of the earlier years of the automotive. It is powered by a fuel injected 350 v8 paired with a 700r4 automatic transmission. The '55 is equipped with power brakes, power steering, power locks, front and rear disc brakes, weld racing wheels with BF Goodrich tires, Digital dash, B&M floor shift, and Pioneer CD player. The car presents well dressed in maroon metallic paint over a black vinyl interior. The car runs and handles as it should. We took this car on a road test and were impressed with its overall performance. According to the owner, the engine was balanced and blueprinted with roller rockers.
