Product Details

The Pontiac Tempest began production between 1960 and 1961 and was introduced as an entry level compact. Sharing the unibody Y platform with the Skylark, Cutlass and others, this model also was shown with the Le Mans nameplate beginning in 1962 and finally saw its redesign in 1964 where the entire vehicle was changed. It was changed to a full-size frame, renamed the A-body and continued its production until 1970 in favor of the Le Mans model and name. The GTO ended as the more popular model comparatively and although there were many similarities between the two models, many wanted that GTO name and created “clones” of the popular car out of the Tempests. This particular 1967 Pontiac Tempest Custom has seen many great upgrades and is a properly built, professionally completed example we are pleasured with presenting to you for your consideration! This model has been recreated into a GTO clone of sorts and hosts the GTO badges. With more receipts than you could hope for, the documentation of this build is complete and not a penny was spared in the recreation of this great ride. With its powerful 482 V8 engine mated to a Turbo-Hydramatic transmission, it's clear this was built for speed but with plenty of style as well. The paint on the exterior shows as new and with a great black vinyl interior with a few additional gauges within it is a beast with comfort in mind as well. A roll cage has been added as a safety for the drag strip as this car is sure to beat the 12 second mark without hesitation! With a great set of American Racing 5-spoke wheels, a Grant steering wheel in the interior and an AM/FM/Cassette player for your tunes, its road ready, race prepared example that will surely get your blood moving while behind the wheel!
