Chevrolet is no secret on building fast and powerful vehicles that provide a ton of muscle for little money. The SSR is one that is destined to be a future collectible. The car debuted at the Detroit auto show in 2000 and the reaction was immediate, customers running into their local Chevy dealership to reserve their spot in line for the concept that was soon to become a reality in 2003. GM green-lighted the concept with a few modest changes to the concept, but the biggest let down was the engine and transmission. Automatic and a wimpy 5.3L V8 was the standard setup and turned the hot rod concept into a utility machine. Fast forward to 2005 and Chevy turned up the performance with the Corvette based 6.0L and availability of the 6spd manual transmission. Now with 390HP and a 0-60 time of 5.5seconds this vehicle had the looks, power, and the rarity. Only 7,196 SSR's were produced for the USA market and only 1,202 were optioned in Ricochet Silver and a fraction of these had the rare 6spd manual transmission. Here we offer a fantastic example of the SSR in its last year of production. This particular vehicle is in remarkable shape and retains great pedigree along with the exclusive options from the factory. The vehicle carried a list price of $45,995 and comes with the 1SB package which consisted of; BOSE Stereo with 6CD in the dash, memory seat package with lumbar support, heated leather seats, auto-dimming rearview mirror and side mirrors, and the Homelink system. The car also has the 19in chrome wheels in the front and the 20in chrome wheels in the back. The vehicle is just as nice when new and has deep tread on tires, both factory keys with key fobs, full owners manuals and the original MSRP from the factory.
