The Chevelle burst on to the scene on the new GM A-body platform that became legendary for being the basis of some of the Kings of the muscle car era including the Pontiac GTO , the Buick Gran Sport, and the Olds 442. The Super Sport option allowed Chevy to enter the muscle car fray. The Super Sport package was available on the upscale Malibu two-door hardtop and convertible models; the option added special exterior brightwork with SS emblems and the 14-inch full-disc wheel covers from the Impala SS. This beautiful SS Chevelle has spent the last few years locally here in Michigan where it was loved and cared for. It resided for quite some time in Kentucky before that, where it received a restoration in the mid 1990's. The car was repainted and had the 283 v8 rebuilt. The transmission was upgraded to a Th350 also. Just recently it received a carburetor rebuild, new brake lines, all brakes adjusted, dual bowl brake master cylinder, and a newer alternator. The car was originally a power brake car. When the engine was rebuilt, it was bored .30 over. The Chevelle also has power steering. The engine and surrounding area are painted up nice and show well. The interior has 2 front bucket seats and the interior is covered in white vinyl. There is an aftermarket AM/FM cassette player hidden away in the glovebox. This car is beautiful and is a must have for any collector or enthusiast.
