The Blazer was a staple full size SUV , initially built with capable straight axles, V-8 engine options, and room to take an entire family into the backcountry camping or exploring. Many were kept in stock form, but the chassis and drivetrain leant themselves readily to modifications for more serious dirt use. The full size Blazer remains an off-road classic today. The earliest Blazers built from 1969 to 1972 (the similar GMC Jimmy debuted in 1970) offered GM buyers a short-wheelbase full size SUV on a ladder frame similar to the trucks of the day. The Blazer sat on a 104-inch wheelbase and offered a removable fiberglass hardtop. For the first year, only 4WD models were available, but afterward, both 2WD (coil-sprung IFS ) and 4WD models were offered. We're concerned here primarily with the 4WD models. At the time of its introduction, the Blazer was advertised as having short-wheelbase prowess with wide-track stability, presumably in contrast to its Ford Bronco and International Harvester Scout competitors of the time. We are pleased to offer this beautiful K5 Blazer that recently resided in the great state of Texas. In storage for 20 years, this never rusty blazer underwent a complete frame of restoration just a few years ago. Painted in the period correct orange color, this K5 has all the eyeball you could want. During restoration, the 350 engine was completely rebuild and upgraded with a Edelbrock intake and carburetor. The turbo 350 was completely inspected and re-sealed. Interior wise the inside was completely Rhino lined and the seats properly recovered with the factory style seat covers. Outside this truck has a laser strait body with an immaculate paint finish. Correct factory style rally wheels sporting new 33inch tires gives this blazer an aggressive look. This blazer absolutely drives incredible and ready to go. With power steering, power brakes, and a new soft top this K5 is ready to go topless and cruise to the beach or your weekend car show.
