The Vantage line is a series of hand-built cars, labeled as the leanest and most agile in Aston Martins lineup. Previously Aston Martin used the Vantage name on high-performance variants of GT models, mainly the Aston Martin Virage. The Vantage is a model focused on competing for potential buyers against cars such as the Porsche 911. Originally hiding in the shadows of the higher performing and more expensive Aston Martins, the Vantage Roadster has garnered significantly more appeal after a slew of updates. Aston Martin positions the V8 Vantage Roadster as a true sports car after being built on the automaker's famed racing chassis platform. Sitting inside the car feels comfortable and supportive and the feeling of being safely hugged by the car is amplified by the low riding position and door design. The interior is dressed in Obsidian Black and Meteorite Silver coats the exterior, with optional 10 spoke wheels adding to the already aggressive look. Both seats are leather with full adjustment controls, heat and beautiful contrasting stitching finished off with fixed head restraints. The soft top can be automatically put down in under 20 seconds and tucks neatly under the tonneau cover. No start button is to be found in the car, instead the crystal key is inserted into a slot placed high on the center console. Simplicity at its finest shows with the inclusion of 4 buttons next to the key slot, Sport, Reverse, Neutral and Drive. Finding your way through town is easy thanks to the built in center placed navigation system on the dashboard. Holding in the key causes the car to roar to life showcasing the 4.7-liter V8 under the hood. The engine is all-aluminum and naturally aspirated developing 430 horsepower and 361 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is a rear-mounted Sportshift II seven-speed single-clutch automated gearbox that is given its mechanical energy through a carbon fiber prop shaft. This V8 Vantage is a head turner and loaded with options totaling $11,972, including: alarm upgrade, red brake calipers, glass switches, premium 700W audio, 4 keys, bright finish front grille, secondary glass ECU with leather pouch, magnum silver meshes, memory seats and mirrors, wind deflector and 3M film protecting the car from road debris. It is still under the warranty which ends June 2016. This is a true enthusiast sports car and is eager to get out and back onto the road!
