“Ford unveiled another restyle in 1969, but it was lost in the shadows of three new models: the Mach 1, Boss 302 and Boss 429. Various competition-style appearance items and the GT-handling suspension were standard for the Mach 1, with engine options including the 351-cid small-block, 390 big-block or 428 Cobra Jet. Two race-ready Boss V-8s, the 302-cid small block and 429-cid big block were predictably the hearts of other two hot-to-trot pony cars. The Boss 302 produced 290 horsepower, and its 429 cube big brother made 375 horses. Handling was the main strength of the Boss 302, which was created to race Chevrolet's Z/28 Camaro on SCCA Trans-Am road courses.” This sharp looking ride offers a great deal of originality but with a few upgrades to ensure this is not only good looking, but fun to drive. Reading off the Marti Report which is provided in this sale we find out that this was originally a Bright Gold Metallic model which has since had a more desirable paint scheme added, came with an automatic transmission which has been replaced with a new 5-speed manual transmission to add to the enjoyment of the car and otherwise was a 351 Windsor motor which still resides underneath the hood. From the factory it also had power front disc brakes, came with the power steering and finished being built in September of 1969. This example was a barn find that was left in good condition over the years but brought back to life and fully restored about four years ago. Of the many things completed to get it to its excellent condition the bigger items replaced was the entire wiring harness, leaf springs, clutch fan and kit, flywheel bellhousing was replaced, new mechanical lifters, roller rockers installed, competition camshaft, radiator and fan, control arms, a set of LED lights and 650 Holley carburetor. Many of the receipts were kept by the owner and will be included in the sale along with the official Marti Report.
