A high flat-topped hood was all the rage of this era and was very predominant of the 1940 model, as the grille spread out to reach the fenders. The standard Ford continued to use the grille of the 1939 model with blackout on each side of the chrome center and bolder headlight surrounds were another tell tale of the changes made from its predecessor. 1940 was the last year of the 1937 design and its smaller V8 engine, with an inline six cylinder to be put back into production the following year. The 1937-1940 generation of Fords is one of the most popular automobiles for making custom hot rods out of and that still stands true to this day. Early stock car drivers also used Fords of this era as one of the most recognized racers amongst all other models. This Ford was also the most recognizable design and style assimilated to dirt track racing. A rich history that has carried through the generations, not many vehicles have the same desire as these do after 70+ years. There are many age groups who have fallen in love with the 1940 Ford due to its beautiful lines, classic fenders and its wonderful ability to be customized and this is a shining example of what can be done to make these classics into hot rods. The build was completed around eight years ago in Marshall, MI and was clearly given a lot of attention and investment to make it what it is today. With chameleon painted flames on the exterior, a great set of wheels, a dual-hydraulic trunk opener and fully customized interior, this is not only a great looker but very comfortable. The Ford engine within Ford vehicle is a huge sell point especially for those purists who can appreciate the extra investment and with its smooth shifting automatic it is sure to be your new favorite cruiser. This vehicle also comes with great features like A/C, power steering and power windows within its plush interior.
