Product Details

After years of success of Porsche's 356 models, the six cylinder 911 was introduced in 1964. The 911 was considerably more expensive than the outgoing 356 and many committed Porsche enthusiasts were suddenly left without an affordable model. In response, Porsche introduced the 912 in 1965 with virtually the same proven four cylinder engine as the 356 SC (Super 90). The 911 was 225 pounds heavier than the 356, however, the spirited 912 could still achieve the same top speed of 115 miles per hour. The driver quality early 1968 Porsche 912 offered here sports an old repaint in very desirable Blood Orange over a very tidy black interior. The car features excellent drivability and reliable mechanicals and although not perfect, it retains an excellent core structure throughout. There is no wrong decision offered here, drive it the way it is or restore it to its original glory. First Generations Porsche 911's and now 912's are among the most sought after sports cars on the planet and values continue to sky rocket. Getting your hands on a usable and still affordable example such as this is becoming increasingly difficult and should not be overlooked.
