The Impala SS was a muscle car in an era where none existed. From a mechanical standpoint, it used the Caprice 9C1 police package as its base and got most of its equipment that was previously only available to law enforcement & government agencies. This included a sport-tuned suspension with reinforced shocks & springs, a high-capacity reverse flow cooling system, larger four-wheel disc brakes, transmission cooler, dual exhaust, a higher output electrical system, and other alterations. The LT1 5.7L V8 was standard on the Impala SS paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. These full-size sedans are big and powerful! This 1996 Impala SS is an awesome all-stock and low-mileage example that collectors crave for. This car was last titled in December of 1996 and was stored inside and well cared for as part of a private collection.
