The Porsche 928 is a luxury sports GT car that was sold by Porsche globally from 1978 to 1995. Originally intended to replace the company's iconic 911, the 928 combined the power, poise, and handling of a sports car with the refinement, comfort, and equipment of a luxury sedan to create what some Porsche executives thought would be a vehicle with wider appeal than the 911. The 928 was designed by Wolfgang Mobius and they were built in Stuttgart, Germany. The 928 GTS came equipped with a 5.4L V8 producing 345hp and weighed 3,570lbs. The 928 qualified as a 2+2, having two small seats in the rear. Both rear seats could be folded down to enlarge the luggage area and both the front and rear seats had sun visors for occupants. The 928 was also the first vehicle in which the instrument cluster moved along with the adjustable steering wheel in order to maintain maximum instrument visibility. It features all the comforts that one would expect of a GT car and rightly so with an original MSRP in the ballpark of $80,000 or $132,000 in 2014 dollars. It also is equipped with an aftermarket Clarion 7” monitor stereo navigation system with pioneer speakers and a bass tube. Included with the car are the original books, manuals, and 2 sets of keys. There is also a date and mileage log for the car stemming from 7/1/2001 with 84,000 miles. Included in this log are tires, timing belt and water pump replaced in fall of 2012 at 95,000 miles, windshield, starter, and PSD pump replaced in 2013. This car has been very well maintained and documented with over $19,000 in receipts for maintenance. Finding a 928 in great condition, let alone a GTS model, is getting extremely difficult as time progresses. Prices are skyrocketing on the 928 GTS as they are appreciating rapidly.
