BMW released the fifth-generation 7 Series for the 2009 model year. At launch, the range included a short-wheelbase sedan called F01 internally, and a long-wheelbase limousine called F02; this car is the latter. Both wore a more conventional-looking exterior design than the controversial fourth-generation model, and they offered drivers and their passengers a longer list of luxury features. Production ended in 2015. Alpina's fourth-generation B7 made its debut for the 2011 model year as a quicker and more luxurious evolution of the F01/F02 wrap-generation 7 Series. It gained subtle visual updates (including a body kit that reduced lift at high speeds), interior upgrades, chassis tweaks, and a more powerful engine.
