Product Details

The Model 48 was the main competitor for Chevrolets cars and went through changes and refreshes almost annually to keep the model with new intrigue year after year. This vehicle replaced Fords V8-powered Model 40A and was first introduced in 1935. Up until 1937, this vehicle never looked the same from year to year but then the 1938 came out with such a popular look, they kept it close to the same up until war ceased production in 1941. Fords combination of price, practicality and looks pushed sales over and beyond the Chevrolet with 820,000 sold and the rest was history. Even furthering their desirability was the convertible model which, with less made, makes for a pre-war classic perfect for every collection. With the exterior wearing a beautiful shade of red, the chrome all in good shape and the tan convertible top in good condition as well, this is a real piece of history with all the personality you could hope for! The mechanicals are straight with what appears to be the original flathead engine inside and mated to its 3-speed manual transmission. The drivability is fully intact and ready to be enjoyed by its next owner. The interior is in wonderful shape as well with its saddle interior throughout from seats to doors, original dash intact and with little to no wear throughout. The scarcity of pre-war convertibles really helps to add to the collectability of this fine ride and the comfort only makes it that much more desirable! This vehicle comes with the boot cover for the top.
