When introduced, the “A” charted a new direction for MG. The cars were lower with sleek lines, more roomy interior, low seating position and more powerful. Most importantly was the departure of the body-on-frame design for a uni-body construction. The car was stiffer, much more ridged, and demonstrated vastly improved handling capabilities. The A transcended MG to the sports car world and developed a rich racing history. To this day, the MGA is considered the best overall MG produced. The car offered here was acquired by its current owner as an original car from a long term storage situation. Realizing its potential, the car was immediately brought to MG Legend, John Twist, of University Motors LTD , of Grand Rapids, MI, for evaluation and restoration. The end result was stunning and the car has been properly kept, used and stored in a climate controlled environment. Today, the car remains gorgeous in all areas. The car is finished in Damask Red over Tan interior. The car features coordinating tan convertible canvas top, chrome wire wheels, signature banjo style steering wheel, Jaeger gauges, excellent chrome bumpers and grille. The car is powered by its 1500cc 4 cylinder engine fed by dual carbs, 4-speed manual transmission and rear wheel power. Much attention to detail was exercised during the restoration process using only original and where needed NOS parts. Mechanically, this MGA is a spirited driver exemplifying an outstanding British open air motoring experience. The MGA is a car that continues to be globally sought after and values keep on a steady rise. When it comes to investing in cars, quality matters. This MGA will not disappoint.
