Product Details

The Porsche 356 was Porsche very first production car produced from 1948 through 1965 with varying body configurations. Of the 76,000 built during that time period it is figured that approximately half have survived. The 356 was produced by Ferdinand “Ferry” Porsche. It is a cousin to the Beetle, which Ferdinand senior had designed prior to the WWII . The car utilized a 4-cylinder, air-cooled, rear-engine, rear-wheel drive with a pan on body construction. This formula proved to be very light and nimble. The car became very popular in the motorsports world and thus helped put these cars on the map both in Germany and worldwide. They went through numerous changes incorporating convertibles, speedsters, coupes and even some hard-top configurations such a notchback built by the Karmann company. The car we are proud to offer here is a 1962 T-6 Coupe with matching number engine and transmission as indicated by the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. Originally born Silver Metallic over Black Leatherette, this car has received a full restoration with gorgeous Black exterior over a full Red leather interior. This car was restored in the last five years and still extremely nice. This 356 starts, drives and stops very nicely and is ready to be enjoyed. These cars have become extremely collectible and valuable and the prices will continue to rise.
