We are pleased to present this 1962 International Scout 80 4x4 for purchase. International Harvester developed the Scout as a precursor of more sophisticated SUV's to come. The only other 4-wheel drive recreational vehicles offered at the time were Jeeps. 1962 was the 2nd model year Scouts were offered. The Scouts became known for their ability to go anywhere and have high durability. They are a key part of automotive history being considered the first SUV . This Scout is a very unusual find. This vehicle was purchased in Michigan to plow snow, but the owner ended up never using it for that purpose. Instead he kept the vehicle for 50 years, and barely drove it. This is an all original Scout with under 2,800 original miles. The paint, tires, split rims, interior, floor mats, and spare tire are all original. The windshield folds down, and the top is removable. It's a 4x4 powered by the 152cu in inline 4 cylinder with a 3-speed manual transmission. You will never be able to find another Scout like this in this great condition. A vehicle is only original once, and this is a collector's dream find.
