The Dodge Challenger is the name of three different generations and was marketed by the Dodge division of Chrysler. The Dodge Silver Challenger was first to be produced from 1958 to 1959 as a limited edition which inherited its name from the fact that they didn't use any other paint choice except silver. From 1969 to 1974, the first generation Dodge Challenger pony car was built using the Chrysler E Platform, sharing most of its major components with the Plymouth Barracuda. The second generation which was in production from 1978 to 1983, was a badge Mitsubishi Galant Lambda. The third, and current generation, was introduced in early 2008 as a rival to the competition, the fifth generation for both, the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro. The current owner bought this Challenger back in 2004 from Lucas Motors in Austin, Texas. This vehicle has received an extensive restoration within the last 3 years which included a full motor rebuild, bodywork and paint and much more. This vehicle has been upgraded with a fresh 440ci V8 engine and is paired to a 727 automatic transmission and 3.55 positraction rear axle. The engine was professionally rebuilt in April 2016 (less than 500 miles since rebuild) and also features a small hydraulic roller cam, SEC Johnson roller lifters, an Edelbrock aluminum manifold with Holley 770 “Street Avenger” carburetor and Headman Headers. This car performs great in all areas, it was designed for enjoyment and the open road. This is a very powerful Mopar classic that is a great car to turn the key and get your blood flowing. It's Mopar muscle done right!
