Porsche introduced its Cayman in 2005. The car was based on the popular mid-Boxster chassis and initially marketed as an entry level sports coupe for the brand. The Cayman quickly raised some eyebrows as its mid-engine configuration demonstrated handling capabilities that rivaled any class of sports car with outstanding feel and balance. The Cayman S gets such positive reviews that some publications suggest saving the bank account and forgoing the 911 in favor of the Cayman S's abilities to perform rather similarly.
