The 1963 Impala offered a new look “Jet Smooth” styling, but it was the SS that was gaining its way in to American folklore. The SS could come with a 348ci V8, but the 409ci V8 was the cat's meow. In 1964, the GTO (as a trim package) is thought to have “invented” the muscle car, but it's really hard to ignore that before the GTO there was an Impala SS with a 409ci V8 engine with two 4-barrel carburetors putting out 425 stock horsepower. This '63 Impala 409ci V8 engine powers this beautiful concourse condition piece of art. While the appearance is dazzling, you will want to drive this monster. The only thing different about this period correct 409 is a roller cam shaft instead of a solid lifter. This car is beautiful inside, outside, and underneath. This car also features 15” wheels, front disc brakes, radial tires, larger radiator, tilt steering, AM/FM tape plyer & radio, new wiring harness with modern fuses, new brakes, new bearings, new lines, new cables, new shocks, bucket seats, center console, additional gauges, and a 3:36 rear axle posi. The odometer reads the miles since the full restoration. This car is in incredible condition, but it is also an incredibly powerful example of early muscle with a very rare (and valuable) engine. This is one of those rare cars that looks better the closer you get to it.
