The Alfa Romeo Duetto debuted at the Turin Motor Show in 1961 and was perceived very well, however with the strong sales of the existing models and current economic times it was not put into production till 1966 and coming to the USA in 1966 & 1967. The other cool aspect of this Duetto car that escalates the value even more is that this was the last car that the founder of Pininfarina – Battista “Pinn” Farina had a personal association with. With a solid 109 hp 1570 cc 4-cylinder that cranked out 118HP, it is a joy to drive and with the dual exhaust a pleasure to listen to. With only 1600 of these “boat tail” bodies produced and a fraction of those sent to the American market, makes this car a solid acquisition and an enjoyable investment for several reasons. This specific vehicle shows very well and has had some very important Maintaince performed along with routine service. Painted in Blanco with stunning Rosso Red Leather Seats, this is a car that begs for attention in a very subtle way! Special attention was given to the engine as a full engine rebuild was performed and compression was measured at 170-180 in ach cylinder. Further improvements include driveshaft has been rebuilt, new clutch/pressure plate/throw-out bearing, new ATE brakes, new suspension bushings, new rear drape, carpet, and carpet mats, Alpine head unit, Alpine amp, and JBL speakers, Italian solex carbs; K&N air filter, Aluminum motor mounts, and all stainless bumpers professionally polished. Factory style new cloth top was also installed along with new rear plastic window. The car runs and drives very nice and is a certain head turner as people have seen an Alfa Romeo, but very few have had the pleasure to see the Duetto in person. With only 38k miles that show on odometer and believed to be accurate, this is the car to have. With only 1600 of these “boat tail” bodies produced and a fraction of those sent to the American market, makes this car a solid acquisition and an enjoyable investment for several reasons.
