The GTX represented Chrysler's blend of style and performance in the 1960's. The trim level on these cars are high. Well-appointed interiors and stylish exterior trim was complimented by a base motor consisting of 440 CID and rated at 375 HP. The only other engine option was the 426 Hemi. For 1968, after only one year in production, the GTX received a new look. The body was redesigned to a more hourglass look giving the the car an overall more aggressive look and stance. The 1968 Plymouth GTX offered here has been the recipient of a complete, ground up style, fully documented restoration. The car is powered by a s 440 CID NOM motor, 4 speed transmission. The car features power steering, power brakes, factory tach, interior trim décor, Factory AM Radio with rear speaker, heavy duty battery, new fuel tank, new exhaust and Cragar Wheels. No expense was spared during the restoration of this GTX . Mechanically, the GTX offered here is a complete thrill to drive. The car exhibits power acceleration, excellent shifting, braking and possesses good handling characteristics. Enhancements such as Aluminum radiator, high performance carb and intake, open air filter, and headers, give the car added performance, improved reliability and excellent drivability. The car is well behaved in all traffic situations and is quick to respond to full throttle performance. Everything that one would expect in Mopar Performance. It has been approximately 10 years since the restoration of this GTX and the car shows excellent demonstrating excellent fit, finish and paint and an equally impressive stock interior. The horsepower wars of the late 60's was a shining star in American automotive history with the GTX in the lead pack.
