The 3rd generation of Impala was born for the 1961 model year. The Impala name was just a trim package in 1958, but these model years really got sales roaring. Over 100,000 Impala SS equipped cars were sold in 1962 as buyers couldn't get enough. The SS came with a beefed up suspension and several appearance upgrades that really enhance their value among collectors today. This southern Impala SS is in excellent condition inside, outside, and underneath. It is powered by the 283ci V8 engine paired with the automatic transmission. Recent work has brought this car up to a very high standard. It features a new dash pad, new tires, new exhaust, new brakes, new headliner, new paint, new upholstery, and working air conditioning.
