Product Details

1993 GMC Typhoon, finished in Apple Red with a black interior. The odometer currently indicates approximately 33,400 miles. Equipment includes 16-inch wheels, a limited-slip rear differential, unique suspension system, a roof rack, leather upholstery, air conditioning, cruise control, an AM/FM/CD stereo, and more as detailed below. The seller reports no modifications. GMC beat Germany's usual suspects to the high-performance SUV segment by several years when it turned the S-15 Jimmy into the Typhoon for 1992. Only offered with two doors, the Typhoon received a powerful turbocharged and intercooled V6, permanent all-wheel-drive, a sport-tuned suspension system, and a more aggressive-looking exterior design. Road testers went mad: GMC had built a truck capable of outsprinting a Chevrolet Corvette. Production ended in 1993 after about 4,700 units were made. Power comes from a 4. 3-liter turbocharged "Vortec" V6, rated at approximately 280 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque. Called "LB4" internally, it sends output to all four wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission.
