We all know that the Corvette name carries a special place in car world for so many and has been the model of cutting edge design for the automotive industry for decades. And arguably the C-3 design when it came out was truly was ahead of its time with its radically shaped fenders, front end and gill like front fenders that resembled a Mako Shark. Also new was the completely re-designed interior that featured a multiple guage cluster in the center and large round dials in front of the driver for the speedometer and matching tachometer. And another first was a fiber-optic system that monitored exterior lights. This spectacular car is a documented two owner from new automobile being purchased by the second owner in the Spring of 1989 and having just driven over 10,000 miles in the last 24 years. Not only has this car been lovingly cared for, it has also been carefully maintained to keep its originality. Based on the mountain of information and receipts dating back, the car did have a re-paint of its original Riverside Gold back on October of 1979 by a company called Fleetwood in the Detroit area. The paint is now 34 years old and still shines very nice with some blemishes. The car was purchased by the original owner 10/4/68 at Dexter Chevrolet and remained in Michigan its entire life. We not only have all the current owners purchase agreements and receipts. With the file is the original purchase agreement, original title and protection plan with plate. It also comes with original owners and service manuals. This car was ordered with few options, however one that is not often seen is the auxiliary vinyl covered hardtop that is original and comes with the car. This is a true numbers matching L46 350 cubic inch/350HP mated to a 4-speed close-ratio transmission and posi-trac rear end. Although the radio has been replaced with a better vintage looking radio by custom auto sound classics. The complete original radio comes with the sale as well as the original smog pump including bracket that was removed by the original owner. Also, please note that the third and fourth number on the title have been transposed and have been that way since the beginning, most definitely a clerical error from the dealer or the state.
