Factory equipment includes 17-inch BBS alloy wheels, full-time all-wheel drive, HID headlights, sport seats with blue Ecsaine and black cloth upholstery, and an STI leather-wrapped steering wheel, among others listed below. Modifications reported by the seller include a COBB Tuning Accessport, Stage 1 tune, SF intake, and bypass valve as well as a GrimmSpeed top mount intercooler silicone kit, IAG Air/Oil separator, carbon fiber-style interior trim, and a window tint. The WRX (World Rally eXperimental) STI gained rally-bred upgrades, including a more powerful engine, a firmer suspension, Brembo brakes, a limited-slip rear differential, and a more muscular design characterized by a functional hood scoop and a rear wing. It became an instant success, thanks in part to its rally-inspired handling and its turbocharged engine.
