The second-generation Chevrolet Camaro was produced by Chevrolet from 1970 through the 1981 model years. It was introduced in the spring of 1970 Build information for model 123-12487 was released to the assembly plants in February of that same year. It was longer, lower, and wider than the first generation Camaro. A convertible body-type was no longer available. GM engineers have said the second generation is much more of "A Driver's Car" than its predecessor. The 1973 model year incorporated standard impact-absorbing front bumper system to meet new no-damage standards in 5 miles per hour (8.0 km/h) NHTSA safety legislation. The Rally Sport option, with its chrome bumperettes on either side of an impact absorbing urethane grill surround, continued for one more year due to creative bracing behind the front sheet metal. This vehicle originally resides in California and was brought to Michigan 10 years ago where it underwent a top to bottom cosmetic and power plant restoration. According to the owner, all original sheet metal, floor pans, trunk pan and frame were used. There is less than 1,800 miles on this vehicle since the full restoration. Vehicle features a 350 cubic inch Chevrolet motor, rebuilt with COMP cam, Aluminum EFR heads, Weind twin-screw Supercharger pushing 6 pounds of boost, Holley 750 Carburetor, MSD 6AL Ignition plus MSD Adjustable Timing Controller, aluminum radiator with custom stainless fan shroud, ceramic coated long tube headers, flow-master 2.5” dual exhaust with H-Pipe (over the axle exhaust pipes included with car), turbo 350 transmission with B&M mega shifter, 342 Axle Gear Ratio, new rear leaf springs and KYB Gas shocks on all four corners, heavy duty front sway bar, power steering, power brakes (disc/drum) with line lock switch, custom two-stage paint black with silver stripes, L88 fiberglass hood, custom dash with auto meter gauges (speedo, tach, water, oil, temp, volt, boost, AFR , vacuum, shift light), new custom bolstered bucket seats, new carpeting, crager SS chrome wheels with new BF Goodrich TA Radial tires, Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo with rear subwoofer/amplifier and much more. The owner of this vehicle has provided us with a good amount of receipts and documentation on the upgrades.
