THIS. . . is a 2001 BMW M5, finished in Le Mans Blue Metallic with a Carmel interior. Modifications reported by the seller include tinted fog lights, a pre-facelift-style phone antenna, a BlueBus Bluetooth module, a stage 3 clutch, a Shark Injector tuner, and a muffler delete. Heralded by marque enthusiasts as the best of its breed, the E39-generation M5 arrived in the U. S. for the 2000 model year. It would become the first of several M-cars with a V8, though among the many things that have given the M5 such lasting appeal is the exclusive 6-speed manual Getrag "420G" gearbox. BMW gave the M5 a facelift in 2001. It added the now-famous "Halo" headlights, Celis rear lights, redesigned fog lights, a new-look steering wheel, gray instrument gauges, and a 16:9 navigation display, among other features. Revised VANOS accumulators and piston rings were fitted starting in early 2000. This M5 has all of the aforementioned updates. Power comes from an "S62" 4. 9-liter V8, rated at 400 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Due to the modifications performed to this M5, it may produce more power, but a dyno sheet was not provided to confirm. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.
