Prior to the War, trucks were very much a customized idea mostly built by carriage companies outside of the manufacturers including suspension, length of frame and more to get these vehicles capable enough for the job at hand. The trucks that did come from the factory from Ford were built off the same chassis that their cars were built on which restricted the amount of space to work with as well as the capability. The first-generation Ford F-Series was introduced in 1948 and was the first post-war truck design that Ford had created. This was very unique for the company as they broke off from using their car chassis and opted for a dedicated truck platform. This proved to be a very good move for the company as it went on to be more capable and gave many options to broaden the utilitarian purpose of their vehicle. From the F-1 all the way to their F-8, these trucks came with different engine choices, bed lengths, weight ratings and purposes such as a parcel truck or school bus. Having been fully re-hauled from top to bottom, this vehicle has all the old style with modern amenities and powertrain making this a great find for those who enjoy driving more than just showing off. Featuring a 350 V8 mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission, this vehicle shifts out smoothly at any speed and with its added power steering the ease of enjoyment is quick to appear from behind the wheel. The exterior is done in a beautiful Teal with subtle pin-striping and chrome grill and trim in great shape. The interior is just as well with its wonderful classic dash intact and decorated with teal stripes, the gauges are a vintage styling, the heater which can be found underneath the passenger dash works great and the black upholstery is tip top on the seats giving its next owner a real turn-key ride. The bed has fresh wood that was refinished recently and stands tall and with a solid wood tool box all add to the personality and convenience of this truck! This vehicle comes with a car cover to keep it as pristine as it stands today.
