Product Details

Now here's a car you don't see every day… this gorgeous 1955 MG TF Midget 1500 Roadster! MG launched the TF Midget October 15th, 1953 and for the most part it was a face lifted TD. It came with the TD Mark II engine, headlights faired into the fenders, a sloping radiator grille concealing a separate radiator, and a new pressurized cooling system along with a simulated external radiator cap. The engine's compression ratio, however, had been increased to 8.1:1 and extra-large valves with stronger valve springs and larger carburetors increased output to 57hp at 5,500 rpm. In mid-1954 the engine capacity was increased to 1,466cc and designated XPEG . The bore was increased to 72mm and compression raised to 8.3:1 making 63hp at 5,000 rpm. In all, MG manufactured 9,602 TFs with 3,400 of them designated as a TF 1500. It is finished in its correct code Dark Red paint on its original code 6 cellulose body. The car is in outstanding condition and drives as designed with no issues. The convertible top works flawlessly, the tonnau cover fits like a glove, and the windshield folds down with no issues. It comes with the original tool kit, books, manuals, both hood prop rods, two sets of keys, the gas gauge stick, and the badge bar. With only 86,000 original miles, take advantage of this opportunity to own one of the nicest TF 1500s around!
