The Porsche 928 is a luxury sports GT car that was sold by Porsche globally from 1978 to 1995. Originally intended to replace the company's iconic 911, the 928 combined the power, poise, and handling of a sports car with the refinement, comfort, and equipment of a luxury sedan to create what some Porsche executives thought would be a vehicle with wider appeal than the 911. The 928 was designed by Wolfgang Mobius and they were built in Stuttgart, Germany. Porsche debuted the 928 GT in 1989 after dropping the slowly selling CS and SE. In terms of equipment, the GT was like the 928 SE, having more equipment than a Club Sport model but less than a 928 S4 to keep the weight down somewhat. It had the ZF 40% limited-slip differential as standard like the Club Sport and SE before it. Also like the CS and SE, the GT was only available with a manual gearbox. Produced from 1989-1991, it came equipped a 5.0L V8 producing 316hp. According to paperwork we possess, it originally was sold new at Porsche of Downtown L.A. in August of 1990 for just under $75,000 to a couple in Beverly Hills, CA. It then went North where it spent the next 15 years in Washington before coming to Michigan to be with its 5th owner. The car has just over 126,000 miles and appears to be in very good mechanical and cosmetic condition. The mountain of paperwork consisting of maintenance receipts, PCA documentation, and service records is indicative of the love and care the car received, which also attributes to is overall very good condition. Finding a 928 in great condition, let alone a GT model, is getting extremely difficult as time progresses. With prices skyrocketing on 928's, do not miss your opportunity to take advantage of this quality investment as they are appreciating rapidly.
