In 1965 the Comet line had 12 different product offerings consisting of 3 different body styles. The Cyclone was at the top of the line for performance. The power plant consists of a date coded correct block that is painted maroon and looks great. It is paired with a 4 speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter. It was restored within the last 4 years. According to the owner, the engine was rebuilt and has been bored .30 over and given a mild cam. The ignition was upgraded to Petronix ignition. It has a Holley 4 barrel street avenger carburetor. The car fires right up and sound great. The car is equipped with headers. The car was originally a red and white car and at the time of restoration was painted in Cardinal red with metallic with a white top with metallic flake. The chrome is in beautiful shape. In 1965 only 12,000 were built and only 400 are believed to be in existence today. It is believed to be the original engine, but the 3 speed that it came with has been upgraded to a 4 speed. The front end has been re-done with suspension work and new bushings. The car resided in Oklahoma for a while before it came to Michigan. The Cyclone comes with front bucket seats, center console, spare tire, jack, like new Dunlap white letter tires with the correct wheel covers. The interior is covered in black vinyl and presents well. The carpet, headliner and door panels all show very well. This Cyclone rides well as it is equipped with rear air shocks. This car is in excellent condition and finding one of these rare cars in this condition is remarkable.
