The SL class has been a top luxury line of production cars for decades producing ahead of the pack features, comforts, and performance. The R107 model SL came on to the scene in 1972. With the debut of a V8 engine in this lineup, the 450SL was larger and produced a much more modern ride. The fuel injected V8 features an overhead cam and delivered 230 horsepower paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. The suspension is fully independent and 4-wheel disc brakes came standard. Enjoy the great ride with the removable hardtop on, with the convertible soft top, or an awesome open air roadster experience. This low-mileage 1978 450SL came out of Mercedes Motoring (out of Glendale, California) who are known for their tenacious attention to detail. This was completely gone over to bring this car to the pristine condition it is in, but the paint and sheet metal are 100% original. This is a true under 30,000 original miles masterpiece, and may well be the best R107 on the road today. This is a car that has been restored to stock condition while featuring vinyl seats, power windows, power steering, power brakes, climate control, and the original wheels. The removable hardtop and retracting soft top are both in excellent condition. The only thing better than seeing this car in our pictures, is seeing it in person.
